Ben Affleck wears a Rolex GMT-Master II

David Fincher dresses Ben Affleck's Nick Dunne in a Rolex GMT-Master II 'Pepsi,' reference 16710, throughout Gone Girl (2014): a 40mm steel case with a red-and-blue bezel and a 24-hour hand for a second time zone, produced from 1989 to 2007. Fincher gives it repeated close-ups as Nick, whose wife vanishes on their fifth anniversary, is tried in the court of public opinion, the expensive watch reading as motive before any body is found.

There is a second watch in the film. Before his televised interview Nick swaps the GMT-Master for one his wife Amy gave him for his thirty-third birthday, and his sister Margo notes on camera that he hates it. The film never identifies that gift piece on screen.
