Andrew Garfield wears an unidentified watch

When God Was Love opens Under the Banner of Heaven by pulling Detective Jeb Pyre out of an evening prayer with his family and into a Salt Lake Valley house with blood on the floors. Andrew Garfield plays Pyre, a devout Latter-day Saint whose certainty about his faith starts to crack over the 1984 murder of Brenda Lafferty and her baby. Here he sits at his desk in the station, a rotary phone to his ear, working the early hours of the case.

On the wrist resting on the desk is a plain watch: a round steel case, a pale dial, simple hands, a dark leather strap. It is exactly the unflashy, period-correct watch a 1984 Utah detective would own. The cuff and the low light keep the dial from resolving, and no source has identified it.
