Alexander Skarsgård wears a Casio G-Shock

The Kill Team is Dan Krauss's 2019 dramatization of the Maywand District murders, the case of an American platoon in Afghanistan that killed civilians for sport. Krauss made a documentary about it first, in 2013, and then went back and staged it as fiction. Alexander Skarsgard plays Sergeant Deeks, the platoon's ringleader, the film's renamed version of the real soldier who led the killings, Staff Sergeant Calvin Gibbs, sentenced to life in prison. On Deeks's wrist is a Casio G-Shock.

The G-Shock has been the unofficial standard watch of the American soldier for decades: cheap, nearly indestructible, sold at every base exchange, worn through every recent war. Deeks wears the same watch as the men around him. Which model, exactly, nobody can say. The G-Shock enthusiast site that first spotted it could make out only part of the logo on the buckle, not enough to name it.
