Antoine Méliot is forty-two, an advertising executive with a loving wife, two children, money, and a house in the Yvelines. Over a single weekend he sets about destroying all of it. Albert Dupontel plays Antoine in Jean Becker's 2008 drama Love Me No More, adapted from a François d'Épenoux novel, with Marie-Josée Croze as his wife, Cécile. The film withholds his reasons until late.
A French watch publication identified the watch on his wrist as a steel Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, without naming a model. Jaeger-LeCoultre built the first Reverso in 1931 for British army officers playing polo in colonial India, who kept cracking their watch crystals during matches. The answer was a case that slides in its carriage and flips over, presenting a solid metal back instead of the dial. The movements are made in-house at the company's workshops in Le Sentier, and the rectangular Art Deco case has stayed in production, in one form or another, ever since.
